Worship/Music Ministry

Description

Worship Committee and Spiritual Team

The overall purpose of the worship ministry is to partner with the pastors, the music ministry and other worship leaders in providing opportunities for worship celebrations that focus on God, educate the congregation about the various workings of the church in the worship experience and support the vision of the church.

The team's core group is formed by identifying, training and supporting worship leaders such as ushers, greeters, altar stewards, acolytes, artists, scripture readers and liturgists.

The worship ministry promotes opportunities for spiritual formation as well as individual and family worship.  This ministry encourages people of all ages to grow in their understanding of the Gospel and become better equipped for daily living as faithful disciples.  It seeks to assure that worship acknowledges the whole life of the congregation and community while focusing on lifting up and worshiping God.

Chancel Choir

The Galilee United Methodist Church Music Ministry brings together many talented singers and musicians serving from our local congregation.  The Chancel Choir blesses us with a variety of songs from Anthems, Hymns, Gospel and Contempory Gospel.  The Men's Choir gives us their robust sound on special occasions throughout the year.  Our musicians are gifted instrumentalists from Handbells to Steel Pan, Saxophone and Piano.  Our music director, Mrs. Melissa Manning, is a seasoned church musician and vocal and piano instructor.

The Intergenerational Bell Choir participates in Sunday Morning Worship Service approximately every two months between September and June.  The Bell Choir also  performs for special events and in the Christmas and Spring Concerts.   Arrangements of familiar hymns and contemporary gospel songs are performed.   Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30 P.M.  All are invited to join and share in this bell ringing ministry.  The ability to read music is not required.
